They really have a solid core in place. Especially if Horford can come through for them, they'll be the most surprising team coming from the East this year. But they probably won't make it to the playoffs this year, they'll be close for sure though. Because the East has improved quite a bit this year too. Orlando is definitely better than before, Bobcats has improved with the addition of JRich, and Bucks finally looks healthy this year. All three of those teams will be fighting for the last 2 playoff spots in the East.

They have a good chance as long as Joe Johnson is playin well and stayin healthy and the team is healthy they have a really good chance

preaseason means next to nothing. the stars and starters dont play that much. however i think the hawks do have what it takes to make the 7/8 seed. they have 2 potential allstars in joe johnson and josh smith. also horford should be big and so should marvin williams.

I'm gonna have to say "not" for this season. They have a very interesting young core and could be in the playoffs in a few years but not this year.
