Default did the mets loggo patch always have the NY skyline on it .?

Found a old patch at a tag sale today it didn.t have the skyline behind it

no it didnt they put it in a little while ago, well not a little while ago but they didnt always have the new york skyline.

I always remember it being there, and I remember back to the beginning. It is possible that there are alternate patches.

Pretty much, yes. You may have found some obscure, alternate logo, or (more likely) an unlicensed knockoff.

Yes, it always did, right from the start. The patch you saw was not authentic.

Each of NYC's 5 burroughs are represented in the logo, there's a church spire for Brooklyn, the "burrough of churches," (I never knew that's what they called Brooklyn) and the bridge represents NYC's connection to the suburbs in NJ and Long Island.

Under "history" on the Mets' website, you'll find the history of the logo.
