As unheard of this is from KC Royals... it's just the first 3 games of the season, the season is just beginning. I wouldn't go all in on them making the playoffs just yet. Are they showing signs that this might be the year to make a playoff run? Yes, but to be honest... a lot can happen thoughout the year (injuries) and how's their depth? I think that this is going to be the AL's year of having a tight race for playoffs. Taking it away from last years NL - remember the run the Rockies had?? They needed to win all those games just to make the Playoffs.

I think the Royals will have a winning season this year and actually compete but the Indians will win that division.

They aren't making the playoffs this season. Face it, either team can win any given game. KC had a little luck and some good performances, and the Tigers had a little bad luck and poor performances. It happens.

That said, KC under Dayton Moore has made some serious improvements in the past three years. It was key for Moore to convince David Glass to step away from front office decisions, he's made some great improvements in the scouting and development area, had some decent drafts, and Trey Hillman is looking like a solid hire. They FINALLY have some really good pitching, and I think they handled the Greinke issue *perfectly*. Bannister was an outright steal. The Meche signing, reviled throughout baseball at the time, now looks like a brilliant move. They have a BULLPEN! When/how did *that* happen??

So, bottom line? I wouldn't start clearing my calendar for the playoffs just yet, but this team is at the beginning of something real nice. I loved the Royals of the mid to late 70's, that was a scrappy, energetic, fun team to watch. This looks like it could turn into that. So there's a lot to be excited about.

The Royals have a great team for years to come. Their players might not be flashy all stars, but they are sure very talented.

The 3 starting pitcher that you saw that faced the best offensive lineup are 3 very good pitchers. Meche, Bannister, Greinke, thats a very good top 3. The bottom 2 however, remains a question mark.

As for the lineup. I love Tillman's decision to bat Gordon 3rd, with Guillen cleaning up and Butler batting right behind him. I love that trio. Gordon already has paid off for the Royals with 2 clutch bombs to RF and the other to dead left center.
