Schilling or Randy Johnson? Of course the 2001 Arizona Diamondbacks were lucky enough to have BOTH. WOW! Together they helped bring an end to the Yankee Dynasty.

BUT WHICH of these 2 Dominant Aces would you rather have IF you could only pick one and why?

Id say Randy Johnson seeing I believe he was the last pitcher to throw a perfect game. He's only let one left handed hitter have 4 hits in a game in his whole career. He has over 4700+ strikeouts compared to Schilling's 3100+ strikeouts. Johnson has around 80 more wins than Schilling. Johnson's ERA is .20 lower than Schilling. So yeah in all career stats, it shows that Johnson is cleary more dominant.

Randy.... During an interview his first season in Seattle the reporter asked " in the 9th inning, your 115th pitch hit 99mph...How hard do you think you can really throw?" His reponse "At Least 125mph, I want a long career and am truely afraid of killing someone if I cut loose" Enough said.

At best, Johnson is a HOF pitcher and one of the most dominant pitchers in the last 25 years.
At best, Schilling isn't.

Johnson by a MILE

Randy Johnson

No doubt one of the best pitchers of all time in his prime...100 mph fastball, and his pitches were just filthy...one of the best breaking pitches ever

Randy Johnson is the greatest left-handed pitcher the modern game has ever seen. He trails only Nolan Ryan in strikeouts and among active players, he ranks first in K's, shutouts, and K/9. 5 Cy Youngs, 10 All-Stars, and a triple crown, too.

The thing about Randy is his incredible consistency. His "absolute best" might as well be an entire ten-year period from 93-02 during which he won 175 games and lost just 58. If you throw out his 96 season in which he went 5-0 with injury, that 10-year span equates to 19 wins per year. His high ERA season in that decade was 3.67 and his low for strikeouts was 204 (2008's leader has 167).

So yeah, I'll take the Unit any day in his un-hittable, fearsome prime.
