Well being close rivarly is one big reason but also remember when Baltimore pulled out to Indianapolis. Baltimore tried to get an a new team into the NFL a few times but the owner of the Redskins voted against them having another NFL team thats why Jacksonville and Carolina had NFL teams today because of that block from the Redskins owner it wasnt until Cleveland moved that Baltimore landed its team and Redskins owner had a voice but little power in stopping the City of Baltimore in getting a NFL team. I was living in Baltimore during those days and I tell you those Ole Colt fans didnt like it to well when Redskin owner howled and complained when Baltimore kept trying to get a new team into the NFL that also added fuel to the hatred for the Redskins.
