You're right about the Princeton offense being applied by Rick Adleman, but I don't think it will be applied in this case. It's generally a slow developing offense (all players on the court must be able to make the 3-point shot, it's based on a lot of motion of offense, back door passes, etc). It's also generally applied by teams facing an opposition with athletically superior athletes (not so much the case for the Celtics team). They have a lot of athletic ability, and are very quick for big men.

I think they'll probably apply this in cases where they want to slow the game down, but not in all cases.... As they have both the size to dominate inside and pass out (as you said), and the speed to press if given the opportunity.
